Closer to the engine, flexible couplings such as the Periflex® and Stromag TRI-R connect flywheels and shafts on piston engines and resiliently mounted drives, absorbing vibration and accommodating misalignment — and, in the case of the TRI-R, are available with certificates from international classification societies.
